A Church for Today: What Does This Even Mean?
Engaging “What is”
With such important matters of the head and heart, and facing rapid social change, it seems as if we are constantly “running faster and faster to stay in the same place.”* Confronting an exponential knowledge explosion, the experience of lived-life-day-to-day is like “drinking from the fire hose.”** Everything just keeps coming at us. And “Compassion Fatigue” is now listed in The American Psychiatric Association’s, Diagnostic and Statistical Manual V, as a formal mental health category!
Yet, some things, like gravity, for instance, “just are,” whether we believe in them or not. Opinions are careless and cheap. Evidence-based learning and spirited conversations (so we don’t remain
“stuck” in the same boxes), and with the world’s best minds, ground us in reality and hope. We are a “Movement for wholeness in a fragmented world.” Which is more than being church. For expanding your horizons, click here >> A Movement for Wholeness
